How do I get c clips on axles out of a 2008 towncar, has the S spring in rearend

I think you have a Ford 8.8" axle. To remove the axles, drain the oil, remove the differential cover and you will see a pin about 1" or so in diameter in between the axle ends. There is a small bolt that keeps the pin in place. Rotate the axles until you find the bolt, remove it and then remove the large pin. Then you can drive the axles in. Once the axle is in about a 1/2" the C clip can be removed.
