99 -94 jeep grand Cherokee front diff gear ratio

How to tell front gear ratio when the rear diff. has
been missing. Without pulling  covers .  Engine is
4.7 v8 auto trans

On the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee the differential ratio is listed as 3.55 with an optional 3.73. My information does not adequately explain what makes something "Optional" so I would not but any parts based on this information. Maybe the Jeeps with tow package have this lower gear (3.73) ratio, and they had a tranny oil cooler in front of the condenser and radiator, visible front the front.
