Car wont shift

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So randomly my car will not for the life of me shift into any gear while im driving...right befor it happens it will get real tough to shift...i pull over and sit after about 10 min. it works fine..any thoughts? i have a short shift kit on it idk if that has anything to do with it or not...some people have told me that the shift plate is bad, tranny is going, worn teeth idk

Not so much the gears, is it hard to shift into all of the gears? Most likly it could be your shift fork is gone and when it heats up it warps, or your syncro mesh could be shot, hard to say without seeing what it is doing.

sometimes i can get in into 2nd or 3rd only...it usually only happens once every week and a half tho
