Priced without freight and dealer fee

Asked by Chip Aug 19, 2018 at 02:23 PM about the Subaru Outback

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Are all of these cars priced similarly? One with a low price says it does not
include freight and the $647 dealer fee. Do the other cars not include these
fees? If some do and some don't, you don't get an accurate comparison.

Be aware that most of those ad on fees are Bogus. Only the invoice cost, taxes and DMV fees should be paid. It the cost is not on the window sticker don't pay it!!!

Freight should only be paid for NEW cars. Some dealers tack on the extra “dealer fees” which are, simply put, dealer profit. I’m not against dealers making a profit. After all, that‘s why they’re in business. But those amounts should be included in the price, up front, without the games. If they add it at the end, refuse it. They will either agree to discount the car by the dealer fee amount, or won’t sell you the car. I always work those details out with the GM before I step foot in the dealership.
