Asked by rbgarth Feb 02, 2015 at 07:04 PM about the Subaru Outback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After a week of hearing a faint squeal from belt on engine It lost power steering all at once
and interior brake light and battery charge light came on. Could this be just a belt or did
the alternator die? 210k miles
Thanks

Open the hood and look at the pulley system in the front of the engine and see if one of the belts came off or is loose
