Starter wont disengage

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The starter won't disengage -it just keeps trying to turn over. I had the starter rebuilt. What else can cause this?

did you put in a new solenoid when you replaced the starter?

The starter is most likely defective. You actually had it rebuilt? You didn't just buy a remanufactured one? I didn't think any rebuild kits were still out there...a reman is probably a more cost effective option.

If the starter wont disingage , its not the starter check the solenoid on the inner fender. If its bad thats your real problem.
