I had an 2002.5 and it topped at 109 due to a rev limiter. My 2002 SVT Focus revs out at 172. The First is my experience, the second is taken from a youtube video.
There is no way a stock focus would do 170 mph even without the limiter. If you saw the same video I did, that car was modified. It was also on a dyno so there was no drag due to wind, which would have slowed it down significantly.
172mph? you wouldn't get that out of a standard wrx.
