The OD light is flashing..

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When trying to accelerate a weird putting noise and loss of power occurs, which
causes the OD to start flashing.. what could this be?

clogged fuel filter-cat converter,for loss of power,bad tranny sensor for the OD.

someone told me that it was in the steer wheel a pitch wire. or its on the tranny. I need answer. what to do. 1997 ford explorer 4/4.
