Fuel gauge

Asked by GuruHCFD9 Jul 17, 2019 at 09:19 PM about the Ford F-250

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My fuel gauge works but rite under a quarter of a tank mark
I'm empty and my settings say that I have 28 miles to
empty. I tried to disconnect the batteries,  still didn't work.
What else can I do?

The fuel empty indicator will light up well before the fuel tank is actual empty, usually with 2 to 3 gallons of fuel left in the tank to keep the pump cool. You never want to run the tank dry. What you are experiencing is normal, just fuel up.
