Ford did not make a 4.5 liter. Are you referring to the 4.6 liter engine?
Sorry its for a friend of mine I believe its 5.4 liter
Easiest way to check is to search the net for the specifications on both vehicles. They are readily available. If the engines were offered in both vehicles, then yes. But that does not mean you will not encounter electronics problems. At best you will need to simply have the PCM reflashed. At worse you will have to drag along sensors from the newer engine to install on the older vehicle. If any mechanic work has to be performed in the future, the shop will have to be informed of the year of engine, else they sit there and possible pull their hair out when reading live data.
