if the switch on dash clicks, that is ok,the onley thing you havent replaced is the motor on back of the transfer case,it could be bad or the splines on the hub or axles are striped.

thank u for answering ive changed the trnsfer case shift motor about 1yr ago an the front hub bearings 6 months ago the splines looked fine everything worked good i put it in 4wd once in awhile just to keep everything going an it worked fine a month ago then last week it didnt go in an the switch started to click when i put it 4w high never heard the click before thats y i tought it could be the switch

good thing putting it in 4x4 every once in a while, just drive it for a mile or 2 then back to 2x4.try changing the switch and check the 4x4 fuse in fuse box.
