My daughter has a 1989 escort 1.9 engine runs ,but sometimes lack power.replaced wires,spark plugs,injector,belt,battery.What else could it be.

Check air filter replace if necessary clean throttle with throttle body cleaner replace fuel filter if have not done so in a while add seafoam fuel injector cleaner to gas tank take vehicle out and hit the passing gear a few times this will blow out the gum and carbon build up in engine.
