My friend wants to know what this piece of a Ford Escape

It's an engine splash shield, and yes the vehicle needs it, looks like at least one of the mounting holes are broken but cant tell real well, if it can't be repaired then it needs replaced. Water and these little rigs are not a good match so it needs all the shielding it can get.
