i turn the key on but car doesnt start but if i jump the starter cyclniod the car start is the starter bad or the cyclniod bad

Hit the starter with a hammer and then try the key, if it starts then it's the solenoid that needs replacing. If that doesn't work the starter is most likely dead as Sheyla said.
