Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed the oil in the front Differential. It was as thick as pea soup and black. Is this just
very dirty oil? or has something been added to make it thick and dirty looking?

Depending on year, it's 75+ weight oil. It's thick! The dirty part is just from age.
