How do I turn the interior "door open" light off?

Asked by laurac Oct 14, 2011 at 07:25 PM about the Toyota Corolla

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The interior light is on that shows a rear door is not closed properly ---  the doors are all closed.  I have had to charge the battery.  What can I do to turn off that light and is this why the battery keeps dying?

probably a faulty switch in one of the rear door jams. Pull out each switch and disconnect wires from it and see if your light goes out. The light being on is definitely killing your battery. If that doesnt work, you can remove the light bulb so it wont drain your battery again.
