well, first thing you want to do is hook up a set of gauges and find out if unit has lost freon, if it has you may have a leak in the system ,that can be found by injecting a special die into the system, when that prob is fixed or if you dont have that problem, then you need to see if compressor is bad or if comp. is not getting power to it,if its a power thing check fuses and wires,if it a compressor problem the fixing of A/C units realy should be done by pros -I have 3years field exp. under a lis. tech and diognose fairly well to do A/C correctly you must have a vacume unit,a recovery tank, gauges, die, die light ,and still more, comp oil, tools not only to replace compressor but to change out your condenser or evaperator if eather have a leak and the compressor is still good after replace'ing eather one you would still have to vacum unit down ,if its original compressor and system it may be time for a compleat overhall of the system hoses and all that is if you need a compressor, if it has a leak then fix leak ,have vacumed and charged and see how that goes ,

Up min the engine compartment it's the long relay box with three Relays ac clutch relay is the on the right looking at the box and the bypass wires are four wire relay the jumping leads. -are. Not left and right but the the one forward and back put a wire between those it will turn on compressor it will click the clutch on if it can if not it will blow the fuse if the compressor is bad the gauges will tell you but tyou will need gauges but if it is the relay bad replace it and the clutch will turn on then then low presure switch picks up and turns on compressor when is filled Enough please reply and let me know green orings to seal change all seals for r 134and also replace ends for r12 to r134.
