No engine light but engine surges, sensor replaced and did not help. What is wrong?

Asked by omoore Jan 01, 2007 at 06:05 PM about the Toyota Camry

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Dealer does not know what is wrong. They replaced a sensor and tweaked the engine but the engine surges, (lunges) after it has been running for longer than a half hour at any speed generally at high speeds. When I release the gas pedal it stops but will surge again. Any ideas what is wrong?

Hello What year is your car? We've been trying to dig up some information for you, but having the year of the car would help. Thanks CarGrrl

you might have foul spark plug - check your spark slugs and if you see oil on the spark plug you have to change your valve cover gasket - thats what might be causing the problem .....
