What happens if there is power steering fluid in the transmission?

Boyfriend put the the power steering in the
wrong place, what effects do I expect from
this? Is the car going to be damaged?

What type of power steering fluid did he use? Some power steering units take ATF. But then you are probably overfilled. I would have the transmission serviced. That means a fluid change with fresh fluid and replace the filter. Your probably due anyway.

Since it was probably just a small amount there is no need to panic but change the ATF as soon as possible.
