how many miles on this? sounds like a clutch throwout bearing.
The throw out bearing will only make noise if the clutch pedal in depressed. I can't think of anything on the engine that would spin when revved and then free wheel. -- Open the hood and have a listen. The obvious external suspects are driven by the belt.
Please see the questions, what to know what that sound could be. Just started noticing that while driving, a humming noise continues.
