shocks and lowering springs

I want to buy lowering springs for my car but i was recently told by a mechanic that if I lowered it my ball joints would be gone faster. I want to know if this is true or not...

FALSE, DEPENDING ON HOW LOW YOU WANT YOUR CAR AND IF YOUR AREA WHERE YOU LIVE HAS LOTS OF HOLES OR SPEED BUMPS.JUST DRIVE SLOWLY AND ENJOY YOUR RIDE.
