Lost all power all at once

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was accelerating onto a freeway when the engine stopped producing power just like someone had turned the key off.  No spitting or sputtering or anything, just dead.  It's a 13B and I have fuel from the pump - cannot be certain about pressure, but if volume is any indicator, it's good.  I have about 1 1/2 Ohms of resistance in each of the coils and with the key on, I have 12V on both sides of them.  I tried to get a spark by pulling one of the top spark plug wires off the plug and sticking a screwdriver in the end of it before propping it about 3/16" away from the fuel injection air intake.  I did not observe a spark when I turned the engine over so I tried repositioning it to no avail.  What's next, should I take the ignitors off the side of the distributor and test them?  Any suggestions?  Has anyone had a similar problem?

I took the ignitors out and tested them with the manual's procedure, one good, one not so good! Does anybody have an ignitor for an '85 RX-7 w/13B engine? Or two (it might be a good thing to have a spare)?
