Battery dies fan was always running

Asked by Jmert May 04, 2014 at 08:58 PM about the Mazda MX-5 Miata

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The fan on the right as you face the engine was running after I put in the new battery and
started the car.  It started right.   I noted a fan running but bought this might be normal.
Four hours later the fan was still running.  After trying to start the car the battery was
dead.

Thoughts.

I have a 2010 SRX. My stuck fan problem was the Coolant Fan Relay # 12 on fuse cover. It a bigger 4 pin fuse. It even looked like it has burned out. It had some brown burn spots from overheating. I paid 18.99 at Auto Zone.
