I have a 2002 mx-5. When I depress the clutch I hear a "metalic tick" under the vehicle. What are the possible issues?

It is probly time to rebuild the cltch slave cylinder, the last time i bought one for my Miata it was under $20 bucks from the local autoparts store. Heres a link to all the info you need for the slave cylinder.: http://www.miata.net/garage/slavecyl.html

The first thing I thought of was a dried out Throw-out bearing. It would be a constant engine-speed noise with the pedal depressed. I can see how a Slave Cylinder can make it click. Makes good sense.
