I personally would go used, just because id rather let someone else take the initial hit on the price, however Mazda did just release the photos of the all new 2014 Mazda3 ( as pictured ) and it looks great so if you looking for a new one you might just bite the bullet and purchase brand new. Good luck

if you buy new its nice to have the warranty , the feel, the smell . now the downside is ,can you easily afford the payments? do you mind tying it up if surprises happen though still paid by warranty, ? many do on all cars of late! do you worry when parked it will get scuffed or bumped? or as Michael says the big hit . , And it always is .Plus full coverage insurance maybe check your agent for quote on the model. If its a new body style that appeals, in a few months many used will be available! consumers reports is some help.As its new ,no reports are 100% , call me crazy but my daily ride is an 04 and im keeping it ,knock on wood, forever !

Buy a new one- new car warranty and you know where it's been since day one- buy a used one and they will make a ton of money off of you- camp out in the showroom and be stubborn for hours until they come down on the price and the payments- this is a buyer's economy, and if you have the credit, YOU are in charge- don't let them wear you down- you will be surprised at the deal you can get- if they are stubborn and treat you with ANY disrespect, tell them you'll go to another dealer- then DO IT- the work you put in on the deal will pay off over the next 5 years
