when i looked for the engine type in the add it says 14,does anyone know what this means?

I'm going out on a limb here and think you mean "I4" (letter I)...that's short for inline 4 cylinder engine. In the Beetle's case it could be a 2.0 or a 1.8 Turbo. Closer inspection of the vehicle should clear things up.
