What engine do have? 1200, 1300, 1600?? You have a lot of options here, depending on your preferences. You could buy an adapter plate and fit a Golf engine, you could fit a Subaru Impreza engine or (my favorite option) fit an old air-cooled Porsche engine (see pic). A lot depends on your feeling toward the old flat four. A cheaper option would be to fit twin-dual Weber carbs and a new exhaust system.
