1.8T vs 2.5 Which is better?

It's a beetle. Its gonna be gutless and crap no matter which one you get. If you're dead keen on one (obviously you are), then get the one that is the most fuel efficient. Personally, I'd prefer to be seen driving a dead cow or something... At least you have an excuse for it being slow :-P

It really depends on what your looking to get out of the car. Do you want a car thats good on gas or that has the potential to give you some go? The turbo is going to have to run premium to prevent detonation, so take that in to account as the price of gas goes up. The 2.5 you can run 87 octane in and not have to worry about problems.

1.8T...VW's suck for resale value, and the 2.5 hasn't proven anything yet. The 1.8T is a great engine.

buy one used...we bot a 2014 1.8t last February for $11,500..had 33k miles...thats a 40% discount to new price..i'll do that all day long..bot it from Carvana...it was easy and it didnt suck !!!!!
