And the alarm set button
is coming on and every
now and then it will not
start and if it does start
the instrument panel
gauges do not work

Do you have an aftermarket remote start? If so, it may have to do with that. We have seen many vehicles do odd things because of aftermarket remote starts. I had a 2005 Durango with an aftermarket remote start that caused the instrument panel from working and would cause the alarm to go off at random times.

It comes on while I'm driving the van and the gauges stop working and then sometimes it wont start back up

I fixed my van myself took dash apart got to gauges flipped it over and done some sodering to the back of it it had a hair line crack and it is running great now alarm button does not come on and van does not shut down I cranks everything no problems with it at all thanks for everyone's help!!

Takes about 2 hours to fix need cold soldering gun ssoder and you need to tough every soder point with gun you really just need to heat points up and cracks will fill up be very careful not to get it on the motherboard board and don't for get how you took it apart cause it will be a mess to put together if you forgot and i forgot but i got it it just took a little longer how you ttok it apart
