If it is shutting off randomly and then will start right back up by shifting into neutral or pulling over and putting it into park. Then it sounds like the symptoms I had on my 99 JXi 2.5L that led me to change the cranksensor. After that it ran normally again.

If theres a small.red light on the speedo head when this occurs it will flash several.times means the key/and or skim reader may need replaced or programmed chrysler only, DBR is not avail to the public

I'm betting on your fuel pump giving up the ghost. It's difficult to diagnose and my mechanic first changed the distributor before getting it right.

I had to replace the thermostat housing. The leak caused a false reading and the engine didn't feel like it was getting no water so the engine shut down.

Mike jeep liberty has done that twice. Pull over restart works fine....was wondering if has an alternator? Or does anyone know of history of this. So far been in a safe area when it happens

I have a 2008 Chrysler Sebring convertible 2.7 L I changed the map sensor, cam sensor and thermostat, come to find out it was the thermostat housing. The screw was stripped so it could not be bled properly. If you are having the shut off problems and over heating try all of these. They do not cost a lot I got the thermostat, map, and cam sensor from auto zone but I had to order the housing online I got it from Walmart online. I would also suggest replacing the crank sensor.

I have a 2006 Chrysler sebring touring 2.7L and it shut off while driving and now it turns but won't start but the only thing is I use starting fluid and it turns on but starts idling and when I push the gas it turns off and won't start back up. Changed the MAP sensor and camshaft also the crankshaft plus the fuel pump.. cleaned my spark plugs and still nothing...

Hey just an update on my 2006 Chrysler sebring. I cleaned the fuel injectors and what do you know it started and stayed on but a day later it would have a hard time staying again and boom replaced my air filter and replace the p0113 code intake air temperature sensor that fixed my car. It's running nice.. No problems at all.
