How my 97 Discovery locks in the middle of the freeway,brakes or What?

When is driven for like half hour in the freeway, starts to slow down, like it is climbing,
and gets to a complete stop. After some time, i guess after something cools down, it
goes again, last time, the lockup, lasted for hours. I disconnect the brake buster
vacuum hose and nothing, i did not have with me a tool to check the brake line
pressure so: maybe somebody knows some, and can help the person that next time
will be stuck with it in the freeway: and now in raining season too!!.

Have you checked the transmission fluid level?

It's not the brakes. How many miles are on it?
