Looking into buying a used BMW 335i around 2006 - 2008

Asked by _Nathan_ Feb 05, 2017 at 12:31 PM about the BMW 3 Series

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I will be making close to $5,500 a year I am currently expecting insurance to
be $250 a month, will I be able to maintain this car with this wage? Most
people say the yearly cost of maintenance for this car around $1100 a year.
However, its card to calculate what might happen to me I have little to no
experience with repairs and maintenance but I am willing to learn.

You want to buy a used BMW with an annual income of $5,500? If you were making $55,000 I would still recommend that you run away from these cars.

To be honest with you I dislike very much Hondas, Toyotas, and most Japanese car makes with the exception of Nissan, however, I don't care for Nissan's Sedans. I don't know if Audi would be cheaper to maintain I just want a car that is not everywhere if you know what I mean.

You have caviar tastes on a hamburger budget. If you buy that BMW you will rue the day.

Given your budget, I would recommend you steer clear of the BMW as the smallest issue will cost multiple times a comparable American made car to repair. Find a good used American car that has a documented service history. This will offer the best service and reasonable service cost.
