Question type: Car Customization

We have a Suburban 1500 LT Model C10906 Tires P265/70R17 and are looking to tow
a Crossroads Sunset Trail Reserve Ultra Lite 29SS

trailers/item/st290qb

Are we kosher to tow with some headroom to deal with hills?

If not, does adding a transmission cooler + use tow tires along with electric brake do
it?

What year is the burb. New style is rated around 8000 lbs. First anything over 4000 lbs I would install a trailer brake controller and use it, may save your live. General rule, if the trailer comes with trailer brakes you shoud be using them. Use an equilizing hitch to transfer some weight to the front wheels, reduces sway and increases control. Tranny cooler never hurts. I have a 3/4 ton truck at 6700 lbs and my 5000 lbs trailer is a handful on some hills or slippery surfaces (they were bad though 13% grade). Also depends were you live. Some states/provinces calculate your legal weight by adding up the ratings of your tires per axle and others use the GCVW on the vehicles sticker. If your goin to the later you will need a lighter trailer as this weight includes you and and everything else in the truck and trailer. The former just check your tire weight rating and ensure your registered for that weight if required.
