Can you repair a printed circuit board on an instrument panel?

Asked by Weed48 Sep 09, 2021 at 03:11 PM about the Chevrolet El Camino

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The copper tape has come loose on my printed circuit board when the electrical
plug attaches. Can this be repair with copper tape or do I have to just replace
the printed circuit board for my instrument cluster?

Some people could probably repair it. I might be able to but I would have to look at it. I would look for an electronics repair guy and show it to him.

These can be repaired just as you suggested. Best repair is to use a common glue to tack the loose piece of "tape" back down to the board and then solder in a bridge where the tape is broken. If it is just lifted and not broken, you are done.
