£697.30 too much for Rear axle replacement and repair cost?

Took my car to a garage and they have said that i need a new rear axle as mine
is broken. Asked them for a quote and they said it would be £697.30. Does that
sound right or a bit steep?

I priced looking for recon rear axel around 150 and mechanic said 100 to fit
