2004 chevy silverado 1500, cant get torque converter seated

Asked by Michael Jun 02, 2018 at 09:39 AM about the Chevrolet Silverado Classic 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced the motor and the tranny went, bought a used transmission from a
trusted shop and after seating the torque converter as far back as I can when
bolting up I cannot spin the converter. Im not sure how to fix the problem. The
converter sits an inch and an eighth from the edge of the bell housing. Any help
would be greatly appreciated

1 Answer

The motor is a 5.3l from a 2000 silverado and the transmission came from a 1999 silverado. I bought the converter from advance auto
