Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck has a soft spot in the throttle... almost like its not getting fuel. also, if i punch it, something makes a popping noise and the engine seems like it wants to shut off. it goes very low rpms and then shifts gears. could it be a fuel pump or the throttle body?
