I have a 98 cavaler i changed the fuel pump when i try to start it it starts then stops does this have something to do with the security system

Make sure no fuel leaks sucking up air or make sure u didnt cross fuel lines or wires to pump make sure ur getting connection at plug nd the pin inside didnt break start with simple nd cheap first put gage on it To check pressure is proper
