I had clicking due to bad flasher fuse. Changed the fuse and the clicking remains. Do you think it may be a bad ground? I did watch my gas gauge plumet and return twice last week?

Hello, It certainly could be. The behavior of the gas gauge would seem to represent this type of electrical distress. However, with an older car, it is possible that any number of electrical connections can be wrong (trust me-I've got a '97, I know =)). You will want to monitor all of your gauges and any other aspects about the car that may be influenced by loose wiring, such as wipers or lights. Best of luck CarGrrl

problem souds like you have a bad flasher, also check the fuse for the instument panel. Lastly do you have a trailer hitch connection, check for possible bad connectons or loose wiring

I had this issue with a 98 GMC JIMMY 4x4 SLS, I spent countless hours trying to figure out this same issue, If it happens and you just touch the brakes it goes away, I never did figure it out I put a new flasher, re-mounted the entire wiring harness of the truck, replace the 4-way flasher button twice, had my steering column apart too many times to count, I even went as far as to have the whole truck sent out and a complete electric check done on the truck, to this day I still dont know what the issue was, The worst was driving 2200kms (round trip) with that "ticking" 3/4 of the trip..... I ended up selling the truck. My other 98 Jimmy never had the issue. So I am not sure what to recommend or mention for you to test, just thought that I would share a simalier story. If you do figure it out PLEASE let me know, as I would love to know what drove me nuts for 3 years. Thanks

try changing your door switch when they rust they rust in open position making you interior light stay on

try changing your door switch they are probably rusted in on position seen this many times... good luck
