Sounds like the ignition control module in the distributor is bad. When they start to go bad the engine heat will affect them causing a no start condition.

My 2017 Silverado shut off while I was driving, no power 12 volt adapter, no lights. I got stopped, popped open the hood and nothing was loose on the battery, I oonly have 19,550 miles on it, could this be an ignition module problem?
