When it reaches such a low oil level to display a warning on the dash for low oil pressure (check engine light), the engine will be almost empty of oil, so check at the dipstick to avoid damage.

Once you get the warning it is probably too late for your engine so check your oil level every time you fill it up.

If you are in limp mode probably a clogged screen right before the oil pressure switch clean the screen and it will get you out of limp mode
