84 crx hf cracked carb

we had a high milage 1.3 hf that cracked  the carb leaned the motor out and ruined it. Am looking at a 1.5 85  hf and want to know if this was a common prob or not.  Stan

Do you still have the 84 CRX 1.3L? I am restoring one that has a white exterior with blue interior and am looking for a parts car.
