Why would my standard gear shift all of a sudden not want to go into 1st 3rd and 5th gear. But stiil with no priblem go into 2nd 4th and reverse 1 Answer

pulled the cat. it was fine. replaced the fuel filter, didnt help. began to get worse, until now uit just simply wont stay running. It starts briefly only for a second, then dies.
