Wheel bearing noise

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello , I have a 99 cavalier that I have been chasing a wheel bearing(hub bearing) noise and have gotten frustrated. I have replaced all hub assemblys with Timkin, but the bearing sound is still there. No clicking sound when i turn. The sound exactly resembles a wheel bearing, but isnt.  Could it be cv shaft noise? I'm afraid I might have transmission issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Last time I heard that noise and wasn't the bearing it was the trans going, but have you shaken down the front end? Does it shake while driving or breaking? Did you follow the torque procedure for it. Possible that they were over tightened.

bad tire will make that noise

directional tires turning in the wrong direction will make a similar noise and can easily be mistaken for a wheel bearing noise as well

Thahk you all very much for helping. It ended up the noise was coming from the tires. Goodyear Viva are the ones to blame. Tires had really good tread left in them too. I never thought tires could make that type of sound , especially car tires. Thanks again all !
