van will not start when wet and windy.

6 cylinder astro van. it will start if hooked up to block heater.

mine was doing the same thing this winter really really hard to start if it wasn't plugged in. I had a tune-up done plugs, wires, cap, rotor, starts great now and getting 100km more per tank of gas too. :)

david,thanks for your suggestion.Idid the above repairs twice,no change.WE hve had 30 days of rain in N.S.and Ihave had the VAN plugged into block heater every night. YOU can boost by tow truck and it will not start.A mechanic thought maybe all 2000 vans experienced same problem.ON three rainy days Ihave seen 3 vans being towed .

My 2000 did the same thing and I was told it was the distributor and coil getting wet by condensation. Makes plenty of sense since it happens only when it rains. Even then if I park it in the garage its fine. Check for points and rotor button and check the cap also. If they are old and still in good shape replace them anyway. Then spray a good silicon or WDE40 all over the distributor ( after cap is back on ) and on the coil. It seals them from moisture. Hope it works for you
