Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Inhereted the car from my 89 yr old mother on 03/15/2010.  She sighned over the title, I had it inspected in New Hampshire, got the plates for it and all with only 39,8oo miles registered in the adimeter.  I drove it around a couple of miles each day, (I'm retired) and have no need to go very far.  A week ago, I noticed that the milage was now 69,859 miles on the adimeter.  Nobody drives the car other then myself.  Something hapened to that leading number.  Since i don't know about speedometers, I'm Baffled.

Had the speedometer looked at by specialist. They analyzed it as defective solder on most of the board. The solution was to find a similar instrument console and reset it to the correct milage. Finally, a cluster that works great.
