In ‘66, the 442 was redefined as 400 cu.in. Engine, 4-barrel Carburetor, Dual Exhaust. In ‘64 it was labeled 4-4-2, and had a smaller engine and it stood for 4-barrel carburetor, 4 speed manual and dual exhaust. The larger engine was dropped in, I believe, in Nov. of ‘65. Then the 442 label changed and became 442 instead of 4-4-2. The 3-speed floor manual came standard and the 4-speed manual or Automatic were options. This is what I own, bought brand new 52 yrs. ago, with the standard 3-speed Hurst on the floor.
