Center Headmounted Stop Lamp not working

Asked by Manuki01 Feb 17, 2019 at 02:34 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So truck failed state inspections due to “third
brake light being out” I inspected it a bit
further and the whole unit doesn’t light up.
Bulbs have all been changed and the fuse is
good. Any ideas for my next step of testing
before having to replace that unit?

This is system description for hi mount brake lite. There shows to be codes for brake lamps. Manufacturer specific codes. Blue wire is voltage, black is ground, for stop lamp, use a test light and check both.
