I put a 2009 engine in my 08 charger tried
using 09 computer won't  start do I have to
have key program to the computer or what
do I have to do to make it work it runs with
08 computer

Engine computer is part of immobilizer, so yes you likely need to reprogram new computer to your existing key, or reflash old computer for the newer engine (although reflashing older computer might not be possible, you'll have to consult dealer or someone that can tune engine computers).
