My 2001 Chevy impala had the catalytic converter taken off of it and I had the exhaust replaced and now it won't start . What is causing this to happen?

The problem is unrelated to the exhaust system work unless the mechanic damaged something while doing the work. You will have to replace that cat eventually as you will not be able to pass smog check. Will the car turn over?
